Synopsis 

NL | Binnen de corrupte systemen van werving, training en plaatsing, plaatsen miljoenen Indonesische vrouwen op het platteland hun hoop en dromen in het werken als huishoudster in het buitenland. Help Is On The Way brengt een drukke nanny-school in Indramayu, West-Java, in beeld die vrouwen voorbereidt op het werken in het buitenland als huishoudster. Elk jaar worden honderden vrouwen zoals Sukma, Meri, Muji en Tari geworven door lokale agenten die worden beloond nadat ze hun rekruten met succes hebben zien inschrijven in lokale opleidingscentra. Zij behoren tot de vele vrouwen van het platteland die willen werken in landen als Taiwan, Hong Kong en Singapore. Kan competente huishoudhulp worden geleverd wanneer het pad ernaartoe gebroken is?

ENG | Within the corrupt systems of recruitment, training and placement, millions of rural Indonesian women place their hopes and dreams in domestic care roles overseas. Help Is On The Way brings to the screen a busy nanny school in Indramayu, West Java, that prepares women to work overseas as domestic workers. Every year, hundreds of women like Sukma, Meri, Muji and Tari are recruited by local agents who are remunerated after successfully seeing their recruits enrolled in local training centres. They are among the many women from rural areas aspiring to work in countries like Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. Can competent help be delivered when the path is broken?
