Synopsis 

An unannounced visit from her conservative parents forces single mother Fereshteh to hide her illegitimate baby and find a solution outside the safety of her home. Desperate but determined, she sets out on a quest for allies with the help of her only friend. A nightly odyssey through the streets of Tehran ensues, laying bare the hardships women face in Iran’s patriarchal  society while simultaneously showing what true friendship looks like.

Ta Farda is a captivating drama in which the camera seems glued to Fereshteh and follows her every decision. The film was selected as one of the standout features of the Panorama section at this year’s Berlin International Film Festival.
