Synopsis

As the connection between Elena, a dancer, and sign language interpreter Dovydas evolves from platonic to romantic, the new couple has to figure out what kind of intimacy works for them. Redefining traditional ideas of partnership and challenging stereotypes about asexuality and more, their story of navigating needs explores closeness in unexpected ways.

The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2023 and had its European debut at the Karlovy Vary Festival in the Czech Republic in July 2023. A co-production between Lithuania, Spain, and Sweden, Slow was selected as Lithuania’s entry for Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards.
