Synopsis

In a remote town in Northern Norway, Eira grapples with living in the shadow of her brilliant and rebellious older sister, Vera. As Vera’s behaviour grows more erratic, Eira turns to her sister’s diary for answers. What she discovers is a world of intense light, glitter, and myth, but one also laced with a simmering undercurrent of rage and despair.

This eco-feminist tale explores the complex bond between two sisters, set against the backdrop of a world in the midst of climate change. Den siste våren premiered at the 2022 Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland, where the film won a Special Mention in the ‘Filmmakers of the Present’-category.
