The 4th edition of the Humans of Film Festival is coming. The festival takes place from 10-13 October 2024, at Het Ketelhuis in Amsterdam, and we are looking for festival volunteers.

About the Festival

Humans of Film Festival (HoFF)  is a unique event dedicated to showcasing films that focuses on people and  highlights voices and experiences of individuals and the environment they live in from around the world. The festival attempts to create a space for encounters, where stories are told and shared by and for people who are not often heard enough. This is why we are a film festival with a social and cultural aim. HoFF not only screens powerful films but also hosts panels, workshops, and Q&A sessions with filmmakers and activists, fostering meaningful conversations around the themes presented.

Role Overview

As a Festival Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in the success of the Humans of Film Festival. Volunteers are the backbone of the festival, ensuring that events run smoothly and that all guests have a memorable experience. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience at our film festival, while also being part of a vibrant community of like-minded individuals.

Key responsibilities

• Volunteers help our visitors, answer their questions and check tickets. You make the visitors, filmmakers and special guests feel welcome at the festival.
• Volunteers support in all activities. Such as setting up the venue for a panel discussion, walking around with the microphone at a Q&A and managing crowd control during screenings, panels, and other events.
• Volunteers help with the promotion of Humans of Film Festival. Volunteers help promote the festival by distributing promotional materials such as flyers and posters.

What do we expect from our volunteers?

• Volunteers must be at least 18 years old
• Volunteers are representative and speak English and/or Dutch
• Volunteers are available to work multiple days during the festival
• Volunteers have an NL/EU passport or a Dutch work / study permit
