Why Talk Human Rights?! is a two-part short film programme consisting of three short films, the first part in regard of the Uyghur conflict/genocide and the second part concerning the LGBTQ+ protest in Eastern European countries, followed by a panel discussion. This programme is hosted by our partner Who’s Right Festival.
Programma description
ENG | Through the first panel we want to make the audience aware of the situation of Uyghur citizens in Western China, they are discriminated, persecuted and placed in concentration camps. It is important to know why this is happening, since when and what is the path to improvement or a solution.
During the second panel we focus on the LGBTQ+ protests in Eastern European countries, these protests take place because of anti-LGBTQ+ positions taken by right-wing governments demonizing the community. Why is this happening? What can we do to ensure that the rights of LGBTQ+ people in these countries are not violated?
